Francesco Ponzi is a goldsmith and gemmologist. He works in
Bagnacavallo, in the family workshop — the same laboratory where he
learned the craft.
The work is on the piece: drawing, metal, stones. Before delivery,
setting and gems pass through the gemmological lab. It is not a
counter service: it is control of what leaves his hands.
Commissions begin with a conversation. Often it is a bespoke jewel;
sometimes an interior detail, a piece for yachting, a family stone to
rethink. Projects come from Italy and abroad when the work calls for
it.
